This Privacy Policy describes how rclone-emby ("the App") handles information. The App is a personal, non-commercial tool operated by and for a single individual (the "owner"). It enables rclone to access the owner's own Google Drive so that the owner's media files can be streamed via the owner's private Emby media server.

1. Information the App accesses

When the owner authorizes the App with their Google account, the App may access the files and file metadata (such as file names, folder structure, sizes and modification times) in the owner's own Google Drive, within the scopes the owner grants. The App does not request access to Gmail, contacts, calendar, or any other Google service, and does not access data of any other Google user.

2. How the information is used

Google Drive data is used solely to list, read and stream the owner's own media files through rclone and Emby for the owner's personal viewing. It is not used for any other purpose, including advertising, profiling, analytics, or training of machine-learning models.

3. Storage and security

OAuth tokens and any cached data remain only on servers controlled by the owner (for example, in the local rclone configuration and cache). No data is transmitted to the App's developer or any other third-party server. Reasonable measures, such as restricted file permissions and encrypted connections (HTTPS) to Google APIs, are used to protect this information.

4. Sharing

Google user data is not sold, rented, transferred, or shared with any third party, except where required by applicable law.

5. Google API Services User Data Policy – Limited Use

The App's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically, Google user data is used only to provide the user-facing feature described above; it is not transferred to others except as necessary to provide that feature, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger or acquisition; it is not used for serving advertisements; and no human reads the data except with the owner's affirmative consent, for security purposes, or to comply with applicable law.

Data is retained only as long as needed for media streaming. The owner can delete the local rclone configuration and cache at any time, which removes all stored tokens and cached data.
